A gentle approach to parenting and development in the early years

At Growing Gently, we promote a gentle approach to infant and child development which combines the latest scientific evidence in neurodevelopment and attachment theory, with responsive parenting, acceptance-commitment therapy, and compassionate and mindfulness techniques.

Informed. Mindful. Compassionate. Value Driven.

We grow children gently by responding to their physical and emotional needs, honouring the connection they have with their parent, and taking the time to teach them the lifelong skills they need to become confident, resilient, and kind.

We have realistic and informed expectations about child development, where children are supported to grow at their own pace by providing them with positive and affirming opportunities to foster their independence. We follow their lead, utilise  their strengths, and celebrate their steps forward, big and small.

We seek to empower parents to be gentle not only towards their children, but also themselves, so they can be confident in their parenting role, enjoy childhood, and grow with their child.
